SNEAK ATTACK SHOPS 8/18/2014

Theresa of KraftyGrannysHome made this lovely treasury of our latest "Victims" and our hostess Susanne of SussesSpindehjrne

https://www.etsy.com/treasury/MTcxNjkxOTN8MjcyNDA5OTk0MQ/sneak-attack-shops-81814

Meet Susanne

Susanne from SussesSpindehjrne, is hosting our sneak attack today at 3pm. A frequent sponsor, a yarn diva and one of our international members, Susanne has a knack for finding the neatest new Etsy shops for us to surprise.

I mentioned that Susanne is a yarn diva. She is!! She spins her own yarn, she hand dyes it, she has even been known to use pet hair for spinning.

When I first asked Susanne back in 2012 if she had any pets - she said:

I have a 12 year old dog named Gustav. He is a Bernese Mountain dog and has a great undercoat, which is great for spinning.

I'm not sure if she still has her dog - but see - she used his undercoat hair for spinning yarn!

Did I tell you that Susanne also hand dyes roving - which can be used to spin yarn. This has got to be my favorite. And if you don't spin yarn - Susanne has a custom listing to spin it for you!!

Roving, yarn, handmade items - you will find something for everyone in Susanne's shop.

And come join us in our sneak attack thread - see if you can guess who Susanne's victims will be by the clues she is providing.

Blast from the Sneak Attack Past August 13, 2014

This week I had the great joy of visiting the lovely, colorful, and successful Nooch Fiber. Nooch Fiber was sneak attacked 9/12/2011 and today they have 877 sales and I understand why, when I see all the lovely hand dyed yarn they offer.

I asked Mariana how they were experienced the sneak attack and here is what she told me:

How did the sneak attack affect your shop?
Being sneak attacked really made a huge difference to our shop - it was extremely encouraging to have our stock completely wiped out in one day! Beyond encouragement, it helped us create relationships with several customers who continue to buy from us to this day.

What was your reaction to the sneak attack?
I couldn't even believe it! It was a total high! We had only made one sale before the sneak attack, so it was crazy to see all of our yarns and fibers get bought up!

Are you selling on other venues?
Yes, we are currently in two local yarn stores - Knitty City in NYC and Do Ewe Knity in Westfield, NJ. We have plans to expand into several more in the next few months.

Comments you would like us to pass on to the team?
Thank you so much! The sneak attack was a HUGE confidence booster and played a big part in getting our shop on the map. If it hadn't happened, I don't know if we would be where we are now.

If you are a fiber mad girl like me, you should head over to Nooch Fiber and have a look on all those beautiful yarns, I like this one very much.

Thank you for reading and wish you a great time until next time.
Susanne

This week I had the pleasure of visit Lisa from MamaStowes, Lisa creates handmade signs, ornaments, tee shirts, and furniture. Plus much more, all of her items have a fun beach vibe!

I asked Lisa what she thought of the Sneak Attack, here's what she had to share;
I was surprised at the time, because I had never heard of a "sneak attack"!

I'd helped me by giving me a little boost. I was getting a bit discouraged. My etsy shop was strictly a little side hobby at the time, but it seemed stagnant. It was helpful and kind that people went out of their way to support me!

Now that my employment situation has changed due to health reasons, I am depending more on the extra that my shop brings in.

I'm really not that "tech-saavy", but I am in the midst of trying to put together a facebook page for my shop as well. I also utilize Pinterest to get more views.

It's wonderful to hear that, I wish your shop much success. Stop by MamaStowes and pick a few favorites of your own.

Until next time,
Amanda
