Sneak Attack Shops 3/29/2012

Treasury by Theresa of KraftyGrannysHome

Meet Theresa

Our sneak attack today is being sponsored by Theresa of Krafty Granny's Home.

Theresa works very hard making the perfect items for her shop. I recently asked her what she does to relax:

I like to play golf to work off any tension I might have or go swimming in the pool.

Often, she tells us in our chats that she's off to play golf - I'll be she's as good at golf, as she is coming up with her creations!

And speaking of creations, I have always wanted to learn how to make one of these rag quilts - isn't this beautiful!

Our sneak attack is an early one, at 3pm - so many of our international members can have the opportunity to see the new Etsy shops at the start! Of course, all of our members will be chatting with us in our Sneak Attack thread - you can too!

Oh and don't forget - there is a wonderful giveaway later today - be sure to enter!

Meet Heather and Sandi

Yeah, we have two sponsors today - it's always fun that sponsors can share ideas about clues and shops and just keeping everyone else guessing!

Today's sponsors are Heather from Hugs N Sprinkles Giftsand Sandi from Handmade By Sandi

Heather is a newer member and Sandi has been a member for a long time.

I asked Heather how she came up with the name of her Etsy shop:

"Hugs N Sprinkles" was something I would use to sign happy greeting cards. When I wanted a cute and fun name for my shop, it seemed so obvious to me.

And speaking of cute and fun - how adorable!

Sandi loves to crochet and loves to felt. So combining the two - she creates felted crocheted bowls. They are so neat - work everywhere in the house, but especially on the desk to hold those pesky paperclips that always seem to disappear!

Be sure to look at all the creations in Heather's and Sandi's shops and then come chat with us in our sneak attack thread as we get ready to meet and greet some new Etsy shops at 4pm today!

Meet Anau

One of our newer team members Anau from OfaLahi is sponsoring our sneak attack today at 3pm. I love early sneak attacks!!

I recently asked Anau how she decided on the name for her Etsy shop.

OfaLahi translated literally means Love Big. My vision for my shop is to make enough money to start sponsoring a student from Tonga's stationary for the school term. I love the idea of giving back to my home land, and inspiring children there to dream big and be what-ever they want to be.

All of Anau's products are Polynesian inspired like these earrings!

Visit Anau's shop where 'time stops'. Find your Polynesian inspired favorite! Then come join us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get ready to welcome some new 'victims'!

Heather and Theresa found some really cute shops for today's Sneak Attack! Come take a look and join in the fun! It goes on for 24 hours!

Meet Heather and Theresa

I love it when we have a sponsor who is new to the sneak team. It's even better when we have two new members co-sponsoring. Twice the fun!!

Today's sponsors are Heather from Hugs n Sprinkles Gifts and Theresa from Krafty Granny's Home

This is the first time that Heather has sponsored an attack. Theresa has done a few. Between the both of them, we will be having great clues and meeting some fabulous new talent in the Etsy community!

I recently asked Heather, what prompted her to join the sneak attack team.

My shop was "attacked" at the very moment I needed a positive boost. I want to be able to pass that on to other shops who need some reinforcement that their efforts are being recognized.

Heather makes the cutest polymer clay figures like this mini Easter basket - how can you resist! Note the bitten off ear of the bunny - I always eat the ears off my chocolate bunnies first - don't you?

Theresa has a few sponsorships under her belt and is very active in our sneak team, with making treasuries and always coming up with neat ideas!

Joining Etsy seems to be for lots of reasons. I asked Theresa what prompted her to join:

My daughter-in-law told me about Etsy and thought I should try selling my things there, so after doing some investigating I just knew I had found the spot for my shop.

And she has indeed. Theresa loves to quilt and you can see that love even in the most simple things in her shop like these pot holder sets! Have to be honest with you, I had a hard time just trying to come up with one set to show you, as they are all wonderful!

Now that you have met our sponsors and seen their creations - come join us in our sneak attack thread and meet some other members and get ready to see the creations of our 'victims'!

Home of the SNEAK ATTACKS!

Since taking over the team in October, my leaders and I have been making a lot of changes. It is still a work in progress and will be as we continue to become stronger as a team.

We are starting some exciting things to generate more interest for people who are participating and to get more member participation.

During each month, 3 of the weeks we will have special activities on one of the non-Sneak days:
• One week we will be doing a game that we call the $20 Thingy where someone starts off buying from another shop from the list of participating shops that day and we pass that $20 around buying from each other until the next Sneak Attack. The last person with the $20 when the Sneak Attack begins has to buy from one of the "victim" shops. Judy of JustForTheShellOfIt is the organizer and leader for this fun activity.
• One week we will be holding a BNR/BNS, which was very successful our first time! Summer of SummerWilson8 is leading this activity.
• And the 3rd week we will be doing HEART ATTACKS where we will be looking for new shops, no matter whether they meet our criteria, and we will heart their shops and make treasuries all day! We are still working up the rules for this. Crystal of WoldOfMine is our leader for this activity.
• Then a week of only doing our regular Sneak Attacks and a little breather from formal activities.
• During our regular Sneak Attacks we do a Treasury Challenge using clues that the Sponsor gives to try to guess the shops (similar to Capture the Flag) and if the treasury makers get any of the shops in their treasury, they get a free ad put up on our blog for a month or until we have another winner, whichever comes first. Summer, of SummerWilson8 came up with this fun game.
• Every 2 weeks we have a GIVEAWAY on our blog here.  Shops donate an item to be given away and we have a random drawing for the entries. Maria of MsBittyKnacks is our leader for this and is taking over for HappyHoundCreative who is on maternity leave.
• Where would we be without our BusyBee, Stockannette? Annette of Stockannette takes care of all of our Twitter, Facebook and reminder emails for us and helps out where ever we need her.
• Our weekly blog write ups about our Sponsors and after the Sneak Attacks, about our “Victims” is Sandi of SandisStashShop. She also helps out where ever we need her as do all of our leaders.
•Wendy of UUendysCraftyCorner has taken on a gigantic project for us. She has been working on spreadsheets of our members and trying to get a handle on who is participating and who isn’t. One of which is trying to weed out the members who just signed up to say thanks for attacking them and then we never see them again; those that join thinking they are going to be attacked and when they find they aren't don't bother to remove themselves, defunct and empty shops, etc. It has been a daunting task and Wendy has been working on it for months. Now that everything is organized it will be much easier to manage. Unfortunately along the way members may have been removed by mistake. If you feel you were one of these, please just rejoin and contact me, PaintedMemoriesByRos, to let me know. Etsy doesn’t allow us to just re add your shop, so it is necessary for you to rejoin.

You can see we've been quite busy trying to strengthen our team and would really like you to beome a part of it. You can find all of our information and rules here

Wishing all of you many Sales!

Meet Kristen

Today's sneak attack, sponsored by Kristen of K5Art, will begin at 5pm. At that time you will meet 3 new Etsy shops that Kristen has selected, and they are going to be great!

So many of the sneak attack members work outside their homes as well as creating for their Etsy shops.

When I asked Kristen if she had an outside job, she said:

I work at a coffee distributor warehouse as a Receptionist currently and I am in training to become a Tax Preparer.

And speaking of coffee - check out this delightful Cappuccino Coffee Scrabble Tile that Kristen has made!

You will find all kinds of scrabble tile pendants at Kristen's shop - each one unique. Find the one YOU want!

And then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get ready to find out what clues Kristen has for us today - to keep us guessing as to who her 'victims' will be.

Meet Summer

Come join Summer from Summer Wilson and all the sneak attack members as we get ready to surprise some new Etsy shops today at 6pm!

Summer has been sponsoring the sneak attacks for almost a year! Wow - has it been that long??

Did you know that Summer
was sneak attacked back in July (2010) (on my birthday!) by Yarn2Spin. That's how I found you guys.

Summer has been a wonderful part of this group ever since!

In addition to sponsoring some of our attacks, Summer also makes wonderful jewelry and wreaths. And this month - Summer has created a fabulous necklace to be given away this Thursday - be sure to enter!

Come join us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get ready to see who Summer has selected for us today :D

Meet Susanne & Sandi

It is my pleasure to be co-sponsoring with one of our new Sneak Attack team members!

Susanne from SussesSpindehjrne. Susanne's shop features hand spun yarn, hand dyed yarn and luxurious knitwear.

I am always interested in how shop owners decide on the name for their shop. So when I asked Susanne, she said:

It's the name of my blog and since I mostly sell hand spun yarn, I think the name fits well. Spindehjørne is Danish for spinning room.

Since lots of our sneak team members are obsessed with yarn and fiber, and purple is a popular color for many of us - we all love this item in Susanne's shop!

By now, I think most of you know me as Sandi from Sandi's Stash.

With a passion for fabric, and always buying too much, I offer fabric that is left over from a project, rather than having it sit around.

Many times, that fabric is in pieces too small to sell. So one of my favorite ways to give it a new home, is to package a bunch of pieces together and sell them as PIF Grab Bag (Pay it forward), only charging shipping. This way, others can take the scraps and make things to donate.

After you have oooed and ahhhed items in Susanne's shop and gotten those scraps from me for your charity projects, come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get ready to meet the shops that Susanne has chosen to surprise today!

First Ever BNR/BNS

Our Sneak Attack Team is having it's very first BNR/BNS today! And everyone is invited!

What's a BNR? Buy and Replace - you see someone in this 'treasury' and let us know you want to buy from that shop. Get your purchase and let us know what it is, cause we love to see what others buy :D

Then that shop gets replaced by your shop - how cool is that? Then you have the chance for a sale as well.

So to start - this BNR is going on until Midnight - for all you nite owls out there.

Check out the particulars of this BNR at Sneak Attack BNR

Meet Heather

Heather, better known as WMS from Winemaker's Sister, is sponsoring our sneak attack today at 4pm.

Heather has been sponsoring sneak attacks since the October of 2008!! I went back to some of my questions that I originally asked Heather - as many of our sneak attack team members are new - I had asked Heather what her hobbies were:

I'm deeply involved with knitting and spinning. You know, the winery grew out of my dad's hobby run amok, and I tend to be a bit obsessive about my hobbies as well. I love to make things for knitters and spinners (stitch markers, painted mugs, rubber stamps, notecards, etc), but save the actual knitting and spinning for my "free" time. I find them very relaxing.

Speaking of stitch markers and using a phrase from one of my favorite movies - check out these cute ones!

Heather will be introducing us to 3 new Etsy shops today. Come join us in our sneak attack thread as we get ready to meet them, and share some fun with clues that Heather will be giving us.

"Victims" Once Again Attacked From 2 Different Parts Of The World

Treasury By Theresa of KraftyGrannysHome

Meet Crystal and Lisa

Today's sneak attack, which starts at 6pm, is being co-sponsored by Crystal from World of Mine and Lisa from Beadsoul.

Crystal is a relatively new sponsor. She's been sponsoring since the beginning of December 2011.

I asked her where she got her inspiration
7. My amigurumi is inspired by my kids. If they ask for a lion, i make it!

If you haven't seen her amigurmi patterns you are in for a treat. But Crystal has not stopped there - she is always designing something creative and useful! Like these new draw string bags that everyone can use. I don't know about you, but I find these bags very helpful to organize projects, carry things for an over nite stay or even a trip for several days. Just imagine what you could use it for :D

Lisa has been sponsoring for almost 2 years - I went back and looked! Since it's been awhile since I shared background information about Lisa - here's a tidbit:

I have been married to my before-high-school sweetheart for 26 years and have 3 kids; daughters are 24 and 20 and son is 23. No pets, due to a elaborately landscaped yard; no, I can't keep it up!

I adjusted the years and ages to reflect the time frame since I asked Lisa about herself.

Lisa does beautiful work with hammering and hand stamping items - even for you pet!

I'll bet if you ask her - she can design one for your puppy too!

Come meet these wonderful sponsors at our Sneak Attack Thread as we get ready for some fun surprising new Etsy shop owners!
