Meet Beadsoul

Today is the last Sneak Attack of 2010. We will be sad that we will have no more until 2011. But we are very glad that we have been able to give so many Etsy shops and their owners a great start in 2010. It is our wish for you, that your Thanksgiving is a good one, that your Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or other holiday that you celebrate brings joy and friendship from around the world.

Please join us today, as Lisa from Bead Soul introduces us to 3 new Etsy shops!

A little something about Lisa - she is married to her before-high-school sweetheart and has 3 kids. With as busy as she is, Lisa still has time to make beautiful pendants like this one! A perfect gift idea...

You will see many more gift ideas today at 5pm during our Sneak Attack, as Lisa continues to give us clues as to the identity of the 3 'victims'. It's fun to see what she comes up with and try to guess! And today's theme is Thanksgiving, so don your favorite turkey costume and come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread! As always costumes are optional...

Meet Beady

As we get closer to Christmas, things are heating up. And talking about heating up - we have a NEW sponsor today, who is ready to dazzle you with the shops that she has picked as 'victims'.

Becky, from Beady Eyed Monster, is our sponsor today. When I asked Becky how she decided on the name of her shop, she said After much pondering, I looked at my office filled with beading items and contemplated the obsessive nature I have. I had to admit that I was hoarding the items much like a dragon/monster might guard treasure.

Found these beautiful earrings in Becky's shop:

Be sure to see the other wonderful creations that Becky has in her shop. Then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread! You are sure to find those gifts you have been looking for :D

And today is the drawing for our giveaway on the Handmade Movement site. Be sure to enter!

Meet Unique and Handmade

Whoa - did you know that there's not much time left before you need to have all of your Christmas gifts? You are not one of those who shop on Christmas Eve, are you? We sure hope not.

One of our newest Sneakers, Sue from Unique Greetings has teamed up with Sandi from Handmade By Sandi to introduce you to some new Etsy shops that just might have what you are looking for!

And if you see something for yourself, well, you have been very good this year, right?

Says Sue about her paper craft I have been making cards, tags, and scrapbooking for a very long time. I've given boxes of cards for gifts to my sisters and daughters and they are always so happy with them that I decided to see if there was a place online where crafters are selling their wares. I came across Etsy on the web and opened a shop. It has been a lot of fun to see that other people love my cards as much as I love making them.

When I see all the beautiful papers out there, I just have to create!

I love the cards that Sue makes, you might want to mark some of them for later...

We've met Sandi before. A lover of all things crochet, she is always looking for new things to make. Crocheting is a way for me to relax in the evening after working on my Etsy shops and website, taking care of all of our animals including chickens, and cooking.

Crocheting doesn't only mean hats and scarves. How about wearing crocheted earrings!

Check out the shops of these very creative artists and then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread - you will have lots of fun and might even find some of those Christmas gifts you are looking for!

Meet Verve and Stock

What an exciting Sneak Attack we will be having tonite at 7pm Etsy time! Our co-sponsors are Stock, who you have met before and Verve, who, while a Sneaker from way back, has never been introduced to you here in our Meet the Sponsor feature!

Verve, from Verve Interiors is a true animal lover and avid animal rescue fan. Verve and her husband have a number of pets, many of them having been given a good home by this loving family. As part of the That's Etsy for Animals (EFA): Artists Helping Animals , Verve always donates a portion of the proceeds of her sales to the charity of the month.

Verve's shop features Handpainted decor and art with supersweet vibes. So how can you go wrong, if you have something like this in your home?? And Verve will make a donation to her charity too!

Stock from Stock Annette is a wonderful Sneaker and sponsor - we've seen her before! I always love to show you what her latest creations are... this baby hat is a different look, as instead of pom poms, Stock has used a flower to embellish this hat - makes this hat a "statement piece" for the stylish baby

If you would like to find out more about our co-sponsors, our sneak attacks, or just have lots of fun, come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread today!

Meet Castle & Sandi

The weather is getting chilly, and what better way to stay warm, than to stay indoors and chat with us today, as we get ready for the Sneak Attack co-sponsored by Beth from Castleco and Sandi from Sandi's Stash!

Whether you are a veteran sneaker or a new one, you will notice that we talk a lot about our pets! Says Beth We have many cats, owning only two: Prince, who likes to live up to his name and expects to be pampered, and Pepper, a black cat rescued from an awful situation. The other cats either came with the house (yes, we were told about the one cat at the time we signed the papers for the house) and other roaming cats in the neighborhood. They’re like a little cat gang, going from house to house, expecting to be fed and then returning to their own homes.

Sandi says We have 2 indoor cats - Orville and Wilbur, an outside cat named 'Little Girl', and 2 new kittens - Sweepea and Bubba (actually we think Bubba is a girl). We got the 2 kittens to take the place of our oldest cat who recently passed away. His name was Bitsy cause he was so tiny and fit in the palm of my hand when we got him. We used to have a ton of beagles, that my dh took care of and used for hunting. But as he's been getting older, it seemed to be too much work and not enough fun! So a number of his hunting buddies now have the dogs.

Come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread and find out about other pets :D It's lots of fun, and at 7pm Etsy time, you will find out about our latest 'victims'!

Meet WMS

Are you experiencing cold weather already? Well, I have a suggestion that is sure to keep you warm. Come chat with us today, as we get ready for our Sneak Attack sponsored by Heather from Wine Maker's Sister

I recently asked Heather where she gets her inspiration for the items she has in her Etsy shop. I enjoy participating in swaps, and often I make a prototype as a swap gift. If I think it'll sell, I add it to the shop. I also participate in the PhatFiber Sampler box. We have themes for the sampler boxes each month. I love coming up with items for the shop that fit in the various themes.

I looked at Heather's shop this morning to see what 'new' goodies she has come up with and found this set of Glee Cards - featuring the quotations from Sue Sylvester. They are hysterical and will be a delight to anyone you send one of these cards to.

There are several collections of these new Glee cards in Heather's shop. Be sure to check them out! Then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread...

Meet CarolBroadleyPottery and FallingCoconuts

Today, you are in for a treat! Our co-sponsors are a Mother and Daughter team! Actually, our sponsors are Etsy shop owners in their own right, they just happen to be related :D

Carol from Carol Broadley Pottery is Mom. Carol makes the most beautiful pottery. Says Carol Pottery started as a hobby only...then as many potters say, the clay grabs you, and you get hooked. I started taking year round classes, then got started with art fairs. It was all just an accident! I never intended on selling pottery, but it all has to go somewhere, so that was the next step...the only way to keep improving is to make a lot...of pottery.

This piece is a favorite of many of our sneaker friends as knitting and crocheting are hobbies (and obsessions)!

Jennifer from Falling Coconuts is one of Carol's daughters. How did Jennifer get started with the sneak attacks? I started Falling Coconuts (my Etsy shop) back in October of 2009 - just a short time after that I got "sneak attacked" and it was a GREAT surprise! I think having that experience gave me the opportunity to learn a lot more about Etsy and the wonderful groups it has to be a part of. And now I am getting the opportunity to pay it forward and brighten the day for someone else.

Jennifer makes a delightful assortment of cards and gift tags. Many of them are made from photographs. This one is my favorite!

Don't forget, Christmas is 'sneaking' up on us, and you will want to visit Carol's and Jennifer's shops for those great pottery items and cards for those on your gift list!

With this fun loving duo - you are sure to have a great time chatting with us today at our Sneak Attack thread. And be introduced to 3 new Etsy shops at 6pm Etsy time!

Meet Ritzy & Sandi

I'd like to introduce you to a brand new sponsor for our sneak attack! Meet Rita, from Ritzy's All Naturals

Nicknamed as Ritz or Ritzy as a child, (Rita's last name is actually a cracker brand ), Rita lives in Canada, and has lived in 35 towns! When I asked Rita what got her started with making lip balm, she said I started making lip balms several years ago when I started to react to commercial balms. I have a lip balm in every coat and purse I own!

Because I use lip balm myself all the time, and much prefer the natural ones, this one looks perfect (mmm, love honey).

Sandi from Sandi's Stash has been a sponsor before. Having started her shop as a way to sell her fabric stash, Sandi also has needlework and quilting books, macrame rings, and items that jewelry makers can use in their business.

I have so much fabric left over from projects, that I decided to fill sandwich bags and sell it in grab bag style. I ran across another shop that was doing that, but actually selling it as a PIF (pay it forward) for just the cost of listing an item, and then shipping. I thought - what a wonderful way to help others!

Rather than stuff a variety of fabric from different categories into one bag, Sandi has separated them out into project ideas, such as hearts, patriotic, Christmas, etc. What a great deal!

Be sure to check out Rita's and Sandi's shops and then come chat with us, in our Sneak Attack thread. You will have lots of fun, meet some great people, and be introduced to terrific new Etsy shops!

Because one pom pom pom is rarely enough!

Congratulations to Kay of  VerveInteriors for winning this giveaway!

October 22nd – November 4th: Stockannette on Etsy is donating an adorable knitted hat!

Talk about ready for the winter!  Any little one will definitely be ready when the cold weather comes with this adorable hat made and donated by Stockannette!

This one-of-a-kind baby hat was made to be worn a variety of different ways, making it perfect for a holiday photo shoot or everyday wear!  Machine washable and dryable, it'll fit kids with a head circumference between 18-19.5 inches.

A little bit more about Stockannette:

"By day I have an office job, and by night, I am part of an Indianapolis-based knit graffiti crew called the Yarnburners. This is where the name 'Stockannette' came from. There is a stitch in knitting called "stockinette." Since my name is Annette and I knit every day, Stockannette became my alias, or "tag name" (and then the name of my Etsy shop)!"

We know you won’t want to miss this generous giveaway from Stockannette so here is how to enter to win:

  • Send an email entitled “I want to win this!” to handmadegiveaway@gmail .com.

  • If you have an Etsy shop, include it in the email so you’ll get some free exposure for it if you win!

  • The winner will be announced in the Sneak Attack Day Forum Thread on Thursday, November 4th. You can access the Forum Thread through the Handmade Movement site that day. You will receive an email if you are not present in the Thread and you are the winner!

If you would like to donate something for a future giveaway and get your Etsy shop in the ‘Spotlight’, send an email with the subject “I’d like to donate” to handmadegiveaway@ gmail .com.

You will receive instructions on how you can take part in this giveaway and be a part of The Handmade Movement.

Meet Happy

May the Force Be With You!

Star Wars is the theme that Kirby, from Happy Hound Creative has picked for our sneak attack that happens at 5pm, Etsy time.

In light of recent sightings of bears in her area, I'm glad that Kirby has a place where she can be to watch them... I have a screened in porch on the back of my house that overlooks the "woods" - it's incredibly quiet and peaceful. It can be 100 degrees outside and my porch for some reason stays nice and cool. I could sit out there for hours. Hmmm maybe glassed in would be better :D

We've met Kirby before, and in looking through her shop for something related to 'bears', I couldn't find anything, however, in keeping with the theme she has chosen for today - how about Monsters!

Be sure to visit Kirby's shop and see what other delightful items she creates, and then come on over and chat with us in our Sneak Attack Thread.

Meet Beadsoul

Lisa from Beadsoul is sponsoring our Sneak Attack tonite at 5pm!

Affectionately called Bead, Lisa always introduces the neatest new Etsy shops, and today will be no exception.

Choosing a Halloween costume theme, many of our sneaker friends will come dressed in their scariest or funniest costumes. Can you guess who they are?

Everyone has a favorite medium that they work with. When I asked Lisa which was hers, she replied Favorite medium? That is kind of like asking what is your favorite food: one day I want ice cream or to use Resin, the next day I want cake or to do metal work...what about Chinese food-that could be wire wrapping? Lol!

I'm just beginning to learn about wire and how to work with it - I love these earrings, maybe Lisa will teach me how to create them :D

Be sure to see all the fantastic creations from Lisa's shop and then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack Thread - you will have a HOWLING good time!

The wonderful world of Sneak Attacks

Usually, I write about the sponsor for our sneak attack - today I'm the sponsor, and if you have been following this blog, you have already met me :D

When you are a new shop on Etsy, and don't know very many people in the community - you browse through the forums, find people on twitter that talk about Etsy, and just try to wrap your mind around all of the information available. It can be very confusing and overwhelming. Hint: being a veteran shop owner - there's still a lot of information that comes your way, that results in overload.

My sneaky friends and I try to help new shops whenever we can. Twice a week, we hold what we call Sneak Attacks - picking 2 or 3 new shops, to introduce them to the Etsy community and help them get a jump start in their business.

Many of our 'victims' have come back and joined the fun, and have become sponsors as well!

We don't have a team, but we are a bunch of fun people, who enjoy chatting and having fun. If you want to find out more, just come on over to our Sneak Attack thread today, and see what it's all about!

HELP! If You Are Scheduled to Donate Please Read This!

We have had a little problem with our email account and we need your help! Apparently over the weekend our Gmail account had a 'hiccup' causing several saved emails to be irretrievably deleted.  Of course, this included the emails we had received from those of you that were scheduled to donate to the Handmade Giveaway through the rest of this year. This leaves us with an open schedule and no way to contact those who were on it.

If you have received a confirmation email with a date for your donation to be posted as the Handmade Giveaway we need to hear from you! Please send an email to handmadegiveaway@gmail.com with 'I am scheduled' in the subject line and provide us with your information again. You will receive a confirmation email to let you know that you are rescheduled.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As wonderful as modern technology is, it still has it's moments! Thank you for your understanding and support.

Habitmade Studios Wants to Spark your Holiday Spirit

Congratulations to Sandi of HandmadebySandi for winning this giveaway!

Nestled in The Adirondack Mountains, Habitmade Studios on Etsy offers handcrafted luxuries for the home and holidays. Shop owner Desiree has chosen this Handmade Giveaway to put you in the holiday spirit with a generous donation of three items to decorate your home. To check them out you will want to click here and then get registered to win. Harvest Kitty This is Harvest Kitty with Pumpkin Penny Rug. If you are not quite ready to enter the rush of the holiday hustle and bustle, you may want to notice that not everything in Habitmade Studios is geared toward Christmas. This is the perfect example. Desiree shares the Story of the Penny Rug. The Wool Penny Rug and Penny Rug Ornaments are as much a delight to design as to assemble, with the added satisfaction of being able to — at last — use all those luscious bits of leftover wool. Nothing wasted! Much like quilting, penny rug crafting can be a neighborly pursuit, or a lonesome activity on a cold winter night. Either way, the process is the same. Gently felt the wool, carefully cut the ‘penny’ circles and tabs and hearts and flowers, lay the design flat in front of you and begin the blanket stitch. We find it to be entirely meditative. The Penny Rug; a beautiful bit of Americana to share with friends, family, and trusted clients. So, After you register for the Handmade Giveaway, take a look through Habitmade Studios and see all the wonderful items Desiree has to offer. You are certain to feel warmed by the charm you will find there.

Become a Sponsor

Usually, I talk about who our sponsor is for the Sneak Attack! And to let you in on a little secret, it's Me! Or really my alter ego. I usually sponsor a sneak attack as Handmade By Sandi. But today, I'll be sponsoring as Sandi's Stash. My shop where I try to clear out my stash cabinet, and sell my fabric, pattern books and more!

Right now, I want to talk about becoming a sponsor. When I first started writing about our sponsors, I mentioned Being a sponsor is not about self promotion. It’s about providing a way for a new Etsy shop to have their items noticed, hearted, and perhaps find their way into some one’s home.

And that is still true.

Do you remember your first sale on Etsy? How excited you were when you got that email that said you had a sale, and how warm and fuzzy you felt, that someone saw something in your shop that they just had to have.

Etsy is a large community that spans the globe and new shops are appearing daily. Of course buyers span the globe as well. And it's a nice feeling to know that you have helped a brand new shop get seen by a lot of those buyers. We want those new shops to have that warm and fuzzy feeling too!

If you have ever chatted with us on one of our Sneak Attack threads, you know how much fun we have. And our sponsors have a lot of fun as well, deciding which of the many new shops they see, that they would like to help.

The first few times I sponsored a sneak attack, I made sure that I had a co-sponsor. We have a number of sneaky friends who have been sponsors lots of times, and all you have to do is ask - one of us will be glad to work along side you to help that Etsy shop get a good start!

What do you need to know about sponsoring a Sneak Attack?

The first requirement is, a sponsor needs to have been active (posting, not buying) in the Sneak Attack threads for several weeks before they are given a date to sponsor an attack, that gives them time to figure out how it is done and for the Sneakers to get to know them :)

After this, if the person still wants to sponsor an attack, they are sent an instruction sheet on how to pick shops, and what the requirements are for a shop to be eligible for an attack.

They will be sent all the instructions on what has to be done to have a successful attack.

If you feel like you would like to sponsor an attack, please convo http://www.etsy.com/shop/laruefashions, and she will be more than happy to help.

In the meantime, come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread for today. And our attack happens at 4pm Etsy time!

Meet Castle and Stock

I love it when a brand new Sneaker sponsors a Sneak Attack! Tonite's attack is co-sponsored by Annette from Stock Annette and Beth from Castle Company We reveal our 'victims' at 7pm Etsy time.

We've met Annette before. Beth is brand new - she was a 'victim' back in the spring!

When asked as to why soap, Beth replied Luckily, my mother passed her craft gene down to me. During one visit, she gave me a handmade goat milk soap bar that she made. Once I tried it, I was hooked and I will always use handmade soap. It’s so gentle and soothing and kind to my skin. Beth will even gift wrap your soap!

Annette has been a frequent sponsor of our Sneak Attacks, and you know that she loves to knit baby hats. Well, Annette also knits scarves, and here is an original design. Made with Alpaca yarn, it's so light weight, but oh so warm as well!

Be sure to check out all of the items these two fabulous sneakers have in their shops and come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread!

Meet Handmade

Today's Sneak Attack is being sponsored by Sandi from Handmade By Sandi. We will be attacking our 'victims' at 4pm Etsy time!

We've met Sandi before. Sandi has a blended family with 6 children and 10 grandchildren. One of Sandi's daughters teaches high school math. Always trying to find ways to make it easier for her daughter to carry notebooks, lesson plans, and anything else that she needs to tote... Sandi gave her one of her new creations, a denim tote bag that is really strong, with an adorable quilted heart on it to show her daughter how much she is loved.

You can find this and other totes in Sandi's Go Green section. Which one would you choose? Then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread!

Meet WMS

One of our frequent sponsors, Heather from Wine Maker's Sister, is sponsoring again today. Sponsoring what? Why a Sneak Attack of course! And you can be sure that she will have some fantastic 'victims' for our attack that takes place at 7pm, Etsy time.

Not only does Heather run her family's winery, but has lots of hobbies! I'm deeply involved with knitting and spinning. The winery, that I run, grew out of my dad's hobby run amok, and I tend to be a bit obsessive about my hobbies as well. I love to make things for knitters and spinners (stitch markers, painted mugs, rubber stamps, notecards, etc), but save the actual knitting and spinning for my "free" time. I find them very relaxing.

Many of the items that Heather makes for knitters are stitch markers - and these are just too adorable for words...

Check out the rest of the stitch markers that Heather creates. And come share in the fun that we will be having today at our Sneak Attack thread!

Look What You Can Find in SandyVern on Etsy

Sandy Vern from Sandy's Homemade Soaps and Things has donated two bars of homemade soap to the Handmade Giveaway.  So naturally I had to browse her shop to see what other goodies I could find. And I did find a lot! I know you are curious too but hang on a minute and check out what I found.
Shop items

Soap popsicles that look good enough to eat, Pink Grapefruit Bath Bombs and Whipped Shea Butter. Oh, but there is more too! Sandy doesn't cut corners when it comes to creating the perfect cold process soaps. She will tell you, 'Our soaps are made from scratch using the old-fashioned cold process method of combining various oils, butters, and lye in just the right amounts to create a luxurious soap that we are proud to offer to you. We make all our soap in very small batches so we have precise quality control over the entire process. After curing for 4 - 6 weeks, we hand-cut and individually package each soap. You know you are getting a soap that is finely crafted and one-of-a-kind!'

Now don't forget, Sandy fills her shop with more than just soaps. You can check that out for yourself but first, take a shot at winning these luscious bars of soap for yourself absolutely free! Sign up for the Handmade Giveaway then you can go see what else you can find in SandyVern on Etsy.

Meet Stock

Annette of Stock Annette is hosting our Sneak Attack today at 2pm Etsy Time!

We've met Stock before, and I always want to know, how she makes her children's hats with the pompoms. I designed a two-peak baby hat, and then I was flipping through my Teach Yourself Visually Knitting Quick Tips and happened upon the section about how to make pom poms... and I gave it a try! I put up a little red-and-white striped hat and gave people the option of pom poms or not, and the pom poms were a hit.

Stock's knitted hats don't stay around very long - so you might want to order one for yourself!

And come chat with us in our Sneaker Thread!

Meet Beadsoul

We've met Lisa from Beadsoul before. She is sponsoring today's Sneak Attack that starts at 7pm tonite!

Like so many of us, it's sometimes a struggle to keep up. Lisa, is no exception. From taking care of a home, and family, working out of the home as a medical transcriptionist, and running an Etsy shop, at times, she felt that something had to give.

I have to say that the sneak attack group saved me from closing shop last summer. Due to my many irons in the fire, I felt I should just slowly fade away. I was just trolling the forums and found the SA thread. It was the first time I saw so many people working together to help others here. I felt a renewed enthusiasm to keep plugging away on Etsy. I love the idea of such a fun, wonderful surprise for a new or undiscovered shop!

And we are so glad that she did! Lisa's work is stunning, and uniquely yours! Check out this Sterling Pendant that can be personalized!

Be sure to find your perfect pendant at Lisa's shop and then come chat with us at our Sneak Attack thread!

Our Handmade Movement Shop & LaRue Fashions

Today's Sneak Attack is sponsored by LaRue from LaRue Fashions and the Handmade Movement Shop!

LaRue is our coordinator for the Sneak Attacks, approves the 'victims', and maintains the Sponsors list for upcoming Sneak Attacks! Lots of work and she does a super job!

According to LaRue: When I was MUCH younger, my grandmother taught me how to crochet. I put it away for years. It is something that I can work on in the living room with my daughter

And boy does LaRue do a terrific job with her crochet too! Like this scarf...

Our Handmade Movement Shop is a collaborative effort! The items that are donated come from other Etsy shop owners who support our efforts in paying it forward by 'attacking' new Etsy shops. The proceeds from sales will go toward promoting and organizing Sneak Attacks and maintaining this blog!

There are a number of delightful items to choose from, including this Suncatcher...

Purchase something from our shop and help support the Sneak Attacks!!

Our attack will be happening at 6pm today - Etsy Time - there will be 4 'victims' so you are bound to find something you will love! Hope to see you there. In the meantime, come chat with us in the Sneak Attack Thread.

Meet Handmade

Our sponsor for the Sneak Attack today is Sandi from Handmade By Sandi. She loves science fiction, and yesterday was Ray Bradbury's birthday - he's one of her fav authors. So of course, the theme is Science Fiction - you will see all kinds of funky avatars today!

We've met Sandi before, as she loves to sponsor sneak attacks! Did you know that she loves to write? Sandi usually writes a blog post the day after a sneak attack - to introduce the 'victims' to all of her readers. Not only is this a great way to spotlight the new Etsy shops, but it also introduces them to a lot more people - many who may not know what the sneak attack is all about, or didn't get the chance to be there as the new Etsy shops were presented.

You can read her blog at The T-Shirt Lady

And join us at our Sneak Attack thread - lots of fun all day long, and then we will introduce our 'victims' at 7pm Etsy time today!

Meet BooBoo and Happy

We met Kirby, AKA Happy from Happy Hound Creative the other day. Happy, a long time sneaker, has volunteered to be a co-sponsor to one of our newest Sneakers, Michelle from Boo Boo Zoo!

Not only is Michelle a new Sneaker, she also just recently opened her Etsy shop and has created the most adorable fun pain relief bags for the entire family.

An interesting note, Michelle and her hubby have a miniature Schnauzer named Harmony... she is our kid. We got her 2 days before our wedding and named her Harmony because we met on eharmony.com

You will find, that in Michelle's shop - her boo boo bags all have names that rhyme, like this Olive the Owl!

You will find that becoming a sneaker is addictive - according to Kirby (Happy) I think the Etsy community is amazing and I love supporting artists directly. When I heard about Sneak Attacks I thought it was brilliant and I HAD to get involved. I was addicted from the get go and was attacked myself. It's an amazing feeling!!

I recently bought a set of these adorable cards from Kirby - it's always a nice idea to put a little thank you note into a package going to a customer. And while you are doing it - why not use something colorful?

Michelle has really gotten into the swing of things - by declaring that today's theme is Elvis - this is Elvis week, so put on your best blue suede shoes and come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread!

Erika Bond Owner of ErikaBond on Etsy Donates to the Handmade Giveaway

Meet Erika, the proud owner of ErikaBond on Etsy. Erika is a self-taught artist who loves to paint and create beautiful wire wrapped jewelry. In August of 2009 Erika opened her shop on Etsy and began sharing her talent for creating paintings that lean toward nature themes and jewelry with a fantasy feel. As I was browsing in Erika's shop I found this brilliantly

EB Queen of Hearts

colored, eye catching ACEO. Erika describes her painting style as 'a twist of surreal and a feel of folk art.' I would say that pretty well sums it up!

Erika shares with us a little about her jewelry designs. 'There is a lot of whimsy and free form in my designs. Right now I enjoy working with sterling silver and copper wire. All the stones are genuine gemstones unless otherwise stated. Art of various forms has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.'

EB Red JadeLike her mother, Erika's daughter is also an artist. She has been accepted into the Arts and Humanities Focus school program for high school students. Clearly there is an abundance of talent here!

Take some time to visit Erika's shop and see all of her wonderful creations. There you will also find a link to her daughter's Etsy shop. You won't want to miss out on either one of these shops!

I know you won't want to miss your chance to own a piece of ErikaBond jewelry, so don't forget to sign up for the Handmade Giveaway before you go shopping! The Giveaway winner will be announce August 26th in the Etsy forum thread at 6pm. Be one of the first to know who won by hanging out and having fun with the 'Sneakers' while they get psyched up for another Sneak Attack! If you are not present and you are the winner you will receive an email letting you know.  Good luck and have fun shopping!

Meet Stock

Today's Sneak Attack is being sponsored by Annette from Stock Annette at 6pm Etsy time!

We've met Annette before, as she loves to sponsor our Sneak Attacks!

Like many of our sneaker friends, Annette just happened to come across a thread in the Etsy forum that talked about an upcoming Sneak Attack... Turns out everyone on the thread was very nice, and possibly a little wacky, which I enjoy. I was totally intrigued and thought to myself, "Sneaky? Check. Chatty? Check. Trying to be nice to people? Check. I'm in!"

Stock works at a non-fiction book publisher... I'm a cubicle worker bee. (I love all her references to Bees!)

Working with books, Stock has taken that passion and started creating journals that incorporate vintage vegetable seed packages. What a wonderful idea!

See the other journals that Stock creates!

And that's who we are... Sneaky, Chatty, Trying to be nice... with the aim of getting the chosen shops a whole slew of surprise item views, hearts, and business in a very short time, thus giving them a little loving encouragement - and a big morale boost! You too, can be a sneaker - just come chat with us in our Sneak Attack Thread and be part of the fun.

Meet Happy

Our sponsor for today's Sneak Attack is Kirby from Happy Hound Creative. Better known as Happy to all us Sneakers, Kirby will be getting the dancing started at 5pm tonite - Etsy time. Oh, wait, did I say dancing - I meant attacking. But dancing too - as Kirby has picked Polka as the theme for todays attack, in honor of today being National Polka Festival Day!

And how did Kirby come up with the name of her Etsy shop?

Working outside the home, and having just adopted a puppy - Snoopy, Kirby felt guilty about leaving Snoopy at home alone all day, while she went to work. Wouldn't Snoopy be a 'Happy Hound' if Kirby was able to stay at home all day and be with the new puppy? Thus Happy Hound Creative was born... adding the Creative to the name of her shop since Happy Hound was already taken!

And creative is what Kirby is! She makes the most delightful cards and invitations...

These invitations are adorable and just right for any little one's birthday party!

Visit Kirby's shop for your invitations and then come on over and chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread!

Meet WMS

We have met Heather from Wine Makers Sister before, as she is a frequent sponsor of our Sneak Attacks! And if Heather's past sponsoring is any indication - there will be some fabulous 'victims' tonite at 4pm.

Having found out about the Sneak Attacks early on, when a co-member in an Etsy group was a 'victim', Heather fell in love with the idea the sneak attack. I could immediately imagine how a "victim" might feel when she/he first saw those emails coming in to let them know about their sales. I love the way a group of people could work together -- each doing a small thing -- and make such an impact on a new seller. Etsy can be a huge, impersonal place. Sneak Attacks suddenly make it warm and personal.

Heather loves everything about knitting and has taken coffee mugs and hand painted sayings using calligraphy. Any knitter would love these mugs as gifts!

Check out all the other knitter items that Heather has! Then join us at our Sneak Attack thread!
